Pismo No. 3 getaway in LA Times poll
Pismo Beach was recently voted the No. 3 getaway destination in a Los Angeles Times readers poll.
The only two tourism destinations rated above Pismo Beach were the larger Santa Barbara and San Diego areas.
That means Pismo Beach surpassed Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and all other top California coastal getaways, said a spokeswoman for the Pismo Beach Conference & Visitor Bureau.
Pismo Beach also recently reached another tourism milestone by securing more than 30,000 fans on its Facebook page, beating out Santa Barbara, Newport Beach and all other Central Coast destinations.
Suzen Brasile, executive director of the Conference & Visitor Bureau, said Facebook has become a key marketing tool for promoting the city.
