Claiborne & Churchill , 2649 Carpenter Canyon Road (Route 227), (805) 544-4066. Turn right at the end of scenic Price Canyon Road onto Highway 227. The winery is on the right, about 4 driveways down. Ask about the unique straw bale construction of this wine cellar. $5 Wine Tasting, open 11 am.-5 pm. daily. A few gift store items.
Proceeding south, turn left on Corbett Canyon Road for Kynsi Winery, 2212 Corbett Canyon Road, (805) 544-8461. This is a small winery offering six wines to taste for $5-$10 for reserve tasting. Open 11 am.-5 pm. Thursday through Monday.
Continue south on Corbett Canyon Road, go left on Tiffany Ranch Road and right on Orcutt Road toward Arroyo Grande. Turn left on Lopez Dr. to Talley Vineyards, 3031 Lopez Drive, Arroyo Grande, (805) 489-0446. Open 10:30 am.. to 4:30 pm. daily. Wine tasting, $8 includes 5 tastes, gift shop, beautiful picnic area.
Retracing your steps, turn right at Orcutt Road and pass Tiffany Ranch Road to find Domaine Alfred/Chamisal Vineyards, 7525 Orcutt Road, (805) 541-9463. Open for wine tasting Thursday-Monday, 10-5. There is a charge of $9-$15.
Continue north on Orcutt Road past Biddle Ranch Road to Baileyana, 5828 Orcutt Road, (805) 597-8200. It is a must-stop, with $5-10 wine tasting, a well-stocked gift store, outdoor picnic facilities, and a delightful assortment of whites and reds. Open 7 days a week, 10 am – 5 pm.
