Hearst Castle is one of the world’s greatest displays of wealth, art and imagination located just south of San Simeon among the rolling hills just above the Pacific Ocean.
In 1919, the first plans for the Castle were underway. It was built over 28 years, but much of it remains unfinished to this day even with its 90,000 square feet of living space, 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, two pools and a movie theater. At one time the grounds extended to 250,000 acres including an exotic animal zoo. William Randolph Hearst left the Castle in 1947 and it was donated to the state of California in 1957. It is now managed by the Park Service. Today, the Hearst Ranch encompasses 82,000 acres of mountains and oak-crowned hills along with 18 miles of pristine coastline. It is undergoing one of the most complex land-preservation deals in state history.
Choose from five different tour options of the Castle including day and evening tours. Some of these options vary by season. For more information visit http://www.hearstcastle.org/ or let the SeaVenture arrange your visit to Hearst Castle for you.
